Within The Lights theatre in Andover, the team has multiple functions throughout the working week, whether that’s answering the Box Office phone, pouring pints on the bar, creating amazing cakes, overseeing operations, crunching the numbers, or booking the acts.
Due to their love of the arts, they still find time to come and see what’s on at the multi-purpose venue in the heart of Hampshire.
With a real variety of shows on the way in 2023, some of The Lights team have recommended the shows to look out for in their new brochure and who they’ll be buying presents for this year…
Jamie (Operations Assistant) picks Pete Firman, who is bringing his new show Bag of Tricks to The Lights in February next year… “It will be cool to see Pete up close in our auditorium, I’ve never seen him before but he’s a bit of a rising star! I’ll be buying tickets for my wife and I for this show!”
Heather recommends Rave On: “I’ve seen a few of the singers from this show on the West End, and I love hearing sixties music live, so it’s the perfect show for me.” This sixties show is a true representation of some of the most talented singers and performers in the country right now and will be at The Lights in March.
Kate can’t wait for Bon Giovi: “I’ve seen Bon Giovi in our arena before. They always make the venue rock! I highly recommend grabbing tickets for them, it’s now or never!”. It’ll be a proper rock show in the arena at the Andover venue in January.
Lacey picks Parklife: The Sound of Britpop: “I grew up in the 90s, so this will be a nostalgic event for me, I can’t wait to hear all the songs from my youth, all in one night! I’ll be gifting myself a ticket for this one!”. This is a newly booked act for the theatre. Parklife have been touring up and down the country and will be bringing their lively show to the arena in April.
Hazel suggests Gary and Robbie: “As a Take That fan, this is an exciting one for me! They’re not here until May, but if it’s anything like the tributes we’ve had in the past, it’ll be worth the wait! I’ll be coming to this one with the girls!” Gary and Robbie is a brand-new tribute show for fans of Barlow and Williams!
Chris chooses Burglar Bill: “We’re bringing our daughters to Burglar Bill in January, it’s a fun show and it’s a good point of entry for the kids to start enjoying the theatre, I’m biased because I work at The Lights, but it’s a really good theatre for the youngsters too! Can’t wait to tell the girls about this show on Christmas day!” Burglar Bill is on Saturday, 21 January at 11am.
