The search for Hampshire Heroes takes flight

Nominations sought for those deserving an Owl Experience

The festive spirit is in full flight at the Hawk Conservancy Trust with the award-winning visitor attraction launching an appeal for the public to nominate worthy recipients of some special experiences.

Based at Weyhill, near Andover, the Hawk Conservancy Trust wants to mark the season of goodwill by recognising local heroes for the goodwill they have shown others throughout 2019.

From now until the 31st December, the public can submit details of someone they believe has made a real difference to others and the charity will select six people they feel most deserve a special reward.

The leading nominee will be treated to a half-day Owl Experience which the Trust normally offers as a part of its range of other special gift packages. The recipient will meet and fly several native and exotic owl species; have the rare opportunity to fly an owl in the magical woodland setting; and meet some of the largest and smallest owls in the world.

Five more deserving individuals will each receive a day visit to the Trust for two people where they can explore the 22 acres of Hampshire countryside, experience rare birds of prey up close and enjoy three world-class flying displays. The Trust will also gift them a pair of tickets for the ‘Meet the Burrowers’ VIP Encounter. One of the attraction’s most popular gift purchases, this special experience grants entrance the world of burrowing owls where these charming creatures fly hover, walk and run around the guests.

Anyone wishing to nominate a friend, family member, work colleague or neighbour who lives in Hampshire should send an email to: marketing@hawkconservancy.org and write Hampshire Heroes in the subject line. Make sure the rest of your email includes your name and contact details and then the name and age of the person you are nominating together with no more than 500 words explaining the reason you feel they deserve a reward.

If you don’t want to make a nomination but have someone that you’d like to show some extra special appreciation this Christmas, the Hawk Conservancy Trust has a wealth of gift experience ideas on its website starting from a day ticket for only £15.25 to special experiences for children, keen photographers and budding falconers.
