Andover Isolation Help Group VIA at Queen Charlotte

The distinctive blue 4×4’s from Andover-based charity Veterans in Action are out and about again today collecting food donations to help the town’s most at risk.

In the past 24 hours alone, charity trustee Duncan Crockett has collected 19 donated bags of groceries from kind-hearted people in Andover.

The donations are destined for the Andover Isolation Help Group based at the Queen Charlotte pub, where their restaurant has been turned into a distribution centre.

Help group volunteer John Watson said, “VIA have been absolutely brilliant this week. They are collecting donations from members of the public then dropping them off here.

“We then work out the logistics of what’s needed where – and in which order – and then the guys from VIA are back out delivering to people in need in our community.”

If you are able to assist with any donations of surplus food, dried goods or household items, please contact VIA on 01264 771658 who will collect from you – at a safe distance.

Ahead of Monday’s #ChaseTheRainbow drive-by when Andover Police and Fire Stations will be looking for rainbows displayed in windows helping raise smiles around town, if you see the VIA vehicles out about, do give them a wave from your window.
