Businesses in Andover are being offered a way to save money on their waste collection.
Andover BID have arranged with family-run business Grist that businesses in the high street and town centre Business Improvement District (BID) areas can take advantage of a discounted waste removal service.
The message comes the same time that Test Valley Borough Council remind people to checl that your waste carrier is licensed.
Steve Godwin, Andover’s Business Improvement District manager says, “Andover has many waste providers and until now there really hasn’t been a collective approach to collecting waste in the town.
“We can all save money if we all work together.
“The purpose of the BID is to encourage local businesses to work together for each other’s benefit, whether that’s saving money or encouraging more people to buy more, locally”.
With a unified approach to waste collection, Andover BID believes that businesses can save money on their waste requirements. In agreement with Grist, Andover BID have arrange special deals for BID levy payers. With no waste going to landfill sites.
Mr Godwin adds that businesses outside the BID area may also save because of the joined-up approach, “There is strength in numbers and the more businesses that join-up to our waste charter means more discounts will be available”.
This money-saving service has been negotiated to be cost neutral to Andover BID and offers its members a preferential rate and improved service. The Charter meets the criteria of ‘Improving Perceptions’, part of the objectives of the BID business strategy. This includes:
1. Preferred rates to BID members
2. No tied in or contractual period
