This morning parents of Year 6 pupils and Primary school Headteachers were sent the news that Test Valley secondary schools have cancelled their planned Transition days for all Year 6 pupils that are due to start secondary schools in September.
Transition days give children an introduction to the very different structure of secondary school, to help ease the worry of starting a new school in September.
This news comes following the latest government guidance from yesterday, the Test Valley secondary schools have unfortunately had to cancel their face-to-face taster days on Tuesday 13th July. Instead, secondary schools will be offering a Virtual Induction Evening and pre-recorded videos for students to view in their own time.
This is obviously hugely disappointing for our children and families and the secondary schools will be writing to their prospective families with an alternative event .
Please contact your child’s future secondary schools in the first instance if you have concerns for your child.
