Shop Local: Rosebourne

The words shop local are more than important in these testing times for local businesses. With the COVID-19 affecting many businesses, many businesses who have not shut are having to adapt how they operate in the conditions that they are all abiding by.

Andover has a brilliant array of local businesses, and many have adapted to continue operating to provide their products and services to customers.

Here at Andover Radio and Love Andover we are passionate about our town and the many businesses, which is why on April 1st we showed our support to these businesses and announced that we would not be billing our current clients and offering FREE (Not discounted or special price) advertising on Andover Radio with online advertising too.

Every day we will highlight one business a day as part of our free advertising campaign in support for our local business community.

Today we focus on Rosebourne:

This week Rosebourne has reopened its doors. Its Weyhill store which is situated near Thruxton, is now fully open with a ‘new spacious layout’, it has a strict one way system to ensure processes are in place in line with the Government Guidelines to help customers feel safer when they shop.

Rosebourne, who have been serving the local area since 2016, were winners of the ‘New Business’ of the year award at the Test Valley Business awards in 2017. Over the last 4 years they have been nominated for several other awards including being shortlisted for for Retailer of the Year at the Food and Farming Awards 2019!

Rosebourne, offer locally sourced, fresh produce using Owton Butchers and local bakery’s like Burbridges to fill up its store. The garden nursey is packed with traditional and varied plants sourced from around the country.

They have also been able to offer and home delivery service for plants, gardeningg items as well as garden furniture. This showed clear dedication and personalisation to our local community. The managing director has thanks the community for its support for what he described as being ‘a tough few weeks’ We are Andover Radio 95.9FM thank you Rosebourne for thinking outside the box and being flexible to meet the needs out the local community.

Michael Johnson commented on Rosebourne’s Facebook page;

What an AMAZING job the staff are doing and have done to keep us all safe! I arrived to a greeter who welcomes you and then sends you to the hand cleaning area. I was then informed to keep a 2 metre distance from the others in the store and information on the types of carts available to use… While exploring the flowers I could see how Rosebourne have created a flow to the traffic by blocking access to certain areas so that the exit line could do 2 metre distancing should it get long. I was really expecting to see lots of people but I was wrong. Keeping to a 2 metre separation from others was very easy. It wasn’t a problem at all. If you’re OK with grocery shopping you’ll have even less stress walking around Rosebourne. I felt safe and most importantly…comfortable walking around checking out their beautiful flowers and plants. And if you’re wondering about the cashier area. You are completely separated from the cashier. Their laser scanner goes right through the glass divider. You hold up your items to the glass and they scan your items. Your receipt even pops out on your side of the divider! Great job Rosebourne! I look forward to popping up again soon.”
