Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was injured in Andover on Wednesday, June 26.

Just before 5.45pm, the woman was stood in Roman Way waiting to cross the road when she felt a thump on her arm.

When she checked she noticed a small red mark which she believes was caused by an air gun pellet.

Officers have also received a report from another member of the public who was in the area at the same time and heard what he believed to be shooting and pieces of metal hitting off the lampposts as he was walking past.

PC Mark Wardell said: “This incident occurred at a busy time of day as people were coming home from work, walking their dogs or driving past.

The report from the member of the public indicated that the shots were coming from the Genoa Court area but I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area around this time and has any information about who is responsible.

Anyone with any information should contact PC Wardell at Andover police station on 101 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
