The World Ju-Jitsu Championships will be winging their way to Andover this year after previously being held in Las Vegas!

Visitors from around the world will be heading to Andover Leisure Centre to watch and participate in the championships taking place from the 26 to 29 September. The town will host the event thanks to the recommendation of local martial arts expert, Mike ‘Mad Dog’ McGarry, who is also treasurer of the World Council of Ju-Jitsu Organisations.

Mike, a ‘Shihan’, expert instructor, won gold at the World Masters Ju Jitsu Championships held in Las Vegas.

The championships feature competitors from as far away as Australia and Canada and have been held every three years since 1984.
