The Andover Soapbox Derby, held on Sunday, June 2nd, proved to be a resounding success, attracting a crowd of over 3,000 cheering spectators. Blessed with sunshine, the entire day was a brilliant display of community spirit, thrilling competition, and family fun.
Sixteen teams braved the course, each getting two runs to showcase their creative car designs and racing prowess. The buzzing crowd roared with excitement as the soapboxes whizzed down the track. Highlighting the event’s festive atmosphere, The Showponies provided an entertaining music set during halftime, keeping the energy levels high.
The event was held in support of the Andover Foodbank, with the total amount raised to be announced later this week. Regardless of the final figure, the day’s success was undeniable.
