Police investigate Andover CAB computer issue

Hampshire Police are investigating after an incident involving Andover and Romsey Citizen Advice Bureau’s computer system.

The incident occurred in January and has meant both Andover and Romsey CAB are currently unable to offer advice via email.

The Test Valley CAB website currently advises people that anyone using their Email Advice Service between 24th January and 8th February that their email has not been processed.

Chief Officer for Citizens Advice Test Valley, Ange Moon, told Love Andover “We became aware of an incident that affected our computer systems in January. We reported the incident to the Information Commissioner’s Office and are now working with Hampshire Police to investigate the matter. We continue to offer advice in person and through our telephone service on 03444 111 306.”

It is not clear at the moment if the issue is an internal one or a breach from outside.
