Andover Radio will be sharing their story to a conference of radio industry managers this week.
The Radio Hub: Now and Next conference on Saturday in Somerset is a one day conference and networking event to share good practice in community broadcasting that inspires us towards a sustainable future of growth.
Held at Sedgemoor FM in Bridgwater, the event has keynote speakers from radio stations in the ‘hyper-local’ market to discuss their ‘best practice’ in achieving audience and revenues under challenging market conditions.
David Harber, founder of Andover Radio will be presenting at the event, discussing the marriage of commercial savvy with core aims of community development and social gain.
The event will be launched by Denis Burn, the High Sheriff of Somerset and will be followed by presentations from Andover Radio’s ‘Head of Breakfast-time Travel News’ Dave Englefield. Dave has a background in commercial radio and will explore the theme of community radio as the new ILR (Independent Local Radio).
Philippa Sawyer from Wycombe Sound will explain how the Wycombe Sound team have built a powerful brand that drives revenue, then Andover Radio’s David Harber will share his story of the ‘Love Andover’ branding while creating a radio station that combines commercial savvy with community development.
The final speaker is Dom Chambers, mastermind of the impressive Somer Valley FM and outlines a strategy that landed a £100,000 commission to deliver training.
