Rail Travellers Advised of Weekend Works

RacingSouth West rail have advised travellers of various issues that will affect the rail network over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd July.

With various events on and engineering work planned, it is possible that there will be disruption / changes to journeys in the area.

In our continued effort to improve and upgrade our rail network, engineering works will be taking place this weekend in the following areas. Customers are also reminded that non folding bicycles are not allowed on rail replacement bus services at any time, whilst folding bicycles are allowed if fully folded. Most routes in and out of London Waterloo – Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 July

The lines between Basingstoke and Winchester will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday for maintenance work.

Network Rail is carrying out engineering work between London Waterloo and Queenstown Road closing some lines.

Engineering work is also taking place between Teddington and Shepperton, closing all lines.

The following alterations will apply on Saturday:

Trains between London Waterloo and Shepperton will be retimed and will start / terminate at Twickenham, not calling at stations between Teddington and Shepperton. 2 buses per hour will run between Teddington and Shepperton.

Trains will not run between London Waterloo and Dorking.

Trains between London Waterloo and Woking / Alton / Basingstoke will be retimed.

Trains between London Waterloo and Guildford will run only between Surbiton and Guildford.

Trains between London Waterloo and Hampton Court will run only between Surbiton and Hampton Court.

London Waterloo circular services (via Wimbledon and Twickenham) may be retimed and revised not to call at Earlsfield.

Trains between London Waterloo and Chessington South will start / terminate at Wimbledon.

Trains between London Waterloo and Haslemere / Portsmouth & Southsea will run only between Woking and Haslemere / Portsmouth & Southsea. Customers should use the next available service.

Trains between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour via Eastleigh will run only between Winchester and Portsmouth Harbour. Customers should use the next available service.

Trains between London Waterloo and Poole will run between Basingstoke and Poole only.

The following alterations will apply on Sunday:

Trains between London Waterloo and Shepperton will be retimed and will start / terminate at Twickenham, not calling at stations between Teddington and Shepperton. 2 buses per hour will run between Teddington and Shepperton.

Trains between London Waterloo and Guildford will run only between Surbiton and Guildford.

Trains between London Waterloo and Chessington South / Hampton Court will be retimed.

A reduced service will run between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour / Poole.
