Shooters FC Scores a £2,155 Goal with Support from Jamie G Sporting Trust

The sun shone brightly over Wherwell Playing Fields this past weekend as Shooters FC Under 7s and 8s celebrated a special occasion. The Jamie G Sporting Trust generously donated £2,155, enabling the club to acquire much-needed portable goalposts for its young footballers. Jacqui Gentleman, representing The Jamie G Sporting Trust, presented the cheque to Matthew Thomas, head coach of the Under 8s team.

Since 2009, The Jamie G Sporting Trust has provided financial assistance to sports clubs in the Andover area, distributing over £150,000. This support has played a vital role in helping local clubs by providing equipment, facilities, and coach training to ensure high-quality experiences for young athletes.

The donation has already made a significant difference to Shooters FC, whose old goals were in desperate need of replacement. Now, the young players have safe, reliable equipment to enhance their training and match experiences.

Matthew Thomas expressed his gratitude, saying:

“On behalf of Shooters Youth FC, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to The Jamie G Sporting Trust for their generous support in replacing our U7/U8 goals. The new goals have already made a noticeable difference, and the children are thrilled to have them.”

With the continued backing of The Jamie G Sporting Trust, youth sports in Andover are set to thrive for years to come.
