Lammas Blessings to You All
This will be my final write-up for a while. I have noticed a significant shift in my personal energy, marking another stage in my healing journey. As such, I will be refocusing my attention on Andover Rocks, a festival I founded in 2017 to raise funds for music interventions in adult mental health—a cause very close to my heart after experiencing postnatal depression.
The Essence of Music
When I contemplate our fundamental nature, music emerges as the very essence of existence. We are born with rhythm in the beating of our hearts, the earth maintains its rhythm with tides, sunrises, and sunsets, and nature itself has a rhythm. The sounds of nature—raindrops, rivers, waterfalls, falling leaves, cooing pigeons, and swishing grass—are music for the soul. I frequently retreat to nature for healing, swimming in the sea to free my mind and body, lying in fields to rest my soul, and watching sunrises and sunsets to relax, unwind, and reconnect with my body and flow.
Memories and Milestones
Reflecting on my earliest memories, music has always been present. From nursery rhymes to the blue hymn book at Juniors—I’m sure I’ll never forget the words to “When a Knight Won His Spurs.” In my teens, my Walkman was indispensable—revealing my age a bit here. Wedding songs held significance, as did songs for divorces! There was music for childbirth, music for my father’s funeral, and even a playlist for my own. Music has been a constant companion, especially through my time in the band, which played a crucial role in developing my self-esteem and confidence. Singing has energised my body with different notes and melodies, with certain guitar notes resonating deeply within me, connecting to my core. This experience is profoundly beautiful and raw, and I am deeply grateful to be open to it.
Looking Forward
I will carry all my spiritual learning, development, and healing forward on the path I am returning to. If you wish to follow along, please find Andover Rocks Reignited on Facebook.
Farewell and Full Moon
I hope you have enjoyed my musings over the past 18 months; I certainly have enjoyed writing them and processing my thoughts and feelings. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
The August full moon, known as the Sturgeon Moon, also referred to as the Grain Moon or Red Moon due to its pinkish summer haze, will be full on the 18th and 19th. This is a time to be kind to yourself, to feel your feelings and let them go, marking a new point from which to move forward.
Everything is Energy
Everything is energy, and energy is everything.
