This week has been a busy one for the Love Bus project.
In the next few weeks once the finishing touches have been completed with the electrics, lighting and carpets which we have been busy choosing this week, the bus will be up and running visiting the communities in Andover spreading the Love, by bringing the communities together and targeting social isolation.
Today, Ella Palmer and Maurice Sweeney have been out and about spreading the word about our new and exciting Community Bus project.
This morning we have visited the militarily families fun day at Middle Wallop. We met several army wives who came together with their children for a BBQ, face paining, outdoor games. We spoke to Dan from the Army Flying museum and got involved with their pop up museum and making parachutes with pipe cleaners. We received exciting goody bags and hope to work with Dan in the near future.
This afternoon we visited the over 50s club at Weyhill, we were overwhelmed by the volume of people who attend each week. There were over 50 people who came together to play bingo, have a cuppa and a natter. Speaking with this community opened our eyes the sheer about of issues this generation I currently facing. From feeling isolated due to a lack of transport, to their Tv licence being taken away from them. The stories they told were very emotive and made me feel excited to get their voice heard.
Its been a fantastic day and makes us so excited to get out on the road reaching communities and bringing them together to have stories heard and challenge issues together.
