Swifts on the run for the foodbank

With football competitions at all levels postponed for the foreseeable future, local team Andover New Street Swifts, have taken this as an opportunity to keep fit and raise money for The Andover Food Bank.

As a team they will be running (Abiding by government guidelines) 200km between today (10/4/2020) and next Friday (17/04/2020).

The Andover Food Bank provides emergency food boxes to people in crisi in and around Andover. The Swifts thought it was important to help and support their local community. Andover Food Bank have played a huge part in supporting families and people during this tough time and the Swifts want to help this great cause.

Already the team are looking to exceed their £550 target, with them currently (at time of writing) already raised £329. You can donate here.

Swifts player, Thomas Appleton says “We pride ourselves on being a team and when the going gets tough, the tough get going! The current situation is tough for everyone and as a group we wanted to give our support back to the community.

Of course our options are limited so we thought as a group we could challenge ourselves to try and raise money for a worthy cause.

Andover Food Bank like a lot of charities have done remarkable work during the lockdown and we wanted to try and help them help the wider community
