Tee-rific Boost for Junior Golfers: Jamie G Sporting Trust Drives £700 Donation to Andover Golf Club

Andover Golf Club recently celebrated a significant moment, with the Jamie G Sporting Trust awarding £700 to the ‘Jamie G Golf Academy.’ This generous donation will fund the upgrade of the indoor simulator screen, allowing young golfers to continue honing their skills year-round.

The original screen was donated by the Trust six years ago, and the new upgrade comes at a crucial time, just as the colder months approach.

On a beautiful sunny day, junior golfers were out practising, with the youngest player being just six years old. Jacqueline Gentleman and Conor Green, representing the Jamie G Sporting Trust, were present for the handover of the cheque. They were joined by Mark Gates, President of Andover Golf Club, and Terry Gosden, the club’s golf professional, along with several junior players.

In his speech of thanks, Mark Gates, President of Andover Golf Club, expressed his deep appreciation for the Trust’s continued support:
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Jamie G Trust for their generous donation towards upgrading the large screen in our indoor golf simulator set up, which was originally awarded by the Trust 6 years ago. This upgrade will ensure that all junior golfers can continue to improve their skills and play golf indoors during the wet winter months.

The work the Jamie G Trust is doing is truly commendable, as they are constantly making a positive impact on the lives of children. Their dedication to supporting youth development in sports like golf, and many more, is admirable. May this continue.”

Terry Gosden, the club’s professional, echoed these sentiments:
“May I, on behalf of all the junior golfers at Andover Golf Club, thank the Jamie G Sporting Trust for their fantastic support. All of the junior academy players will continue to benefit from using the indoor teaching studio, especially now that the winter months are upon us. Huge thanks to Jacqui and all at Jamie G.”

The upgraded simulator will allow young players to practise and enjoy the game, regardless of the weather, ensuring their development continues throughout the year.
