The Pride of Thruxton

On Saturday 12th June the Village of Thruxton was adorned with colour as the villagers once again celebrated Pride Month. Residents baked delicious cakes of all shapes sizes and colours and in the evening took part in a charity raffle.

Colourful outfits and accessories were a plenty as the village once again displayed their inclusive philosophy. A total of £375 was raised which will be split between four very worthy causes – The Terence Higgins Trust, Bella’s Hope Foundation (set up by Thruxton teenager Natasha Richardson to educate and help people with service and assistance dogs), TH Three Villages Sports Trust and Thruxton Church.

Chairman of the Thruxton Village Association Richard Smart said “Once again our villagers have displayed their incredible community spirit and raised money for some very worthy causes. Its vital in today’s society that we are inclusive of all races, religions, sexuality etc. and Thruxton is a beacon in the local area for its diverse approach. The sun shone, the flags flew and everyone had a fantastic time”
