The Show Must Go On… New Year, New SMILE, New Opportuity!

Love food, hate waste……is a motto recognised by many of us in this, our throwaway society.  None more so than by Dental Concepts, Andover & Whitchurch Principal Dentists – Dr Manish & Shilpa Chitnis, who are celebrating a decade of UK Dentistry in 2020.

Their 10th Anniversary Launch year has already been spectacular for them, with an amazing ‘Sparkle in Bollywood….New Year, New Smile, New You!’ Competition, having introduced Adam Lovell from Poole, Dorset to the opportunity of WINNING A SMILE MAKEOVER utilising their Dental Tourism program in Mumbai, India worth up to £5000 and who has become their next Dental Concepts Smile Advocate 2020!

The prize included Three days / Two night’s accommodation with Breakfast, at the world renowned – St. Regis Mumbai – along with Adam’s Smile Makeover, which was completed by Dr Manish and his team of Smile Specialists in Mumbai, India in January.

To celebrate this, Dr Manish & Shilpa along with their wonderful Team, are continuing the theme with an evening of celebration, introducing a wonderful live Tommy Cooper performance from the world renowned entertainer, record holder and member of the magic circle – Clive St .James Greenaway, for their special Clients away from their usual environment at Dental Concepts, to be part of the launch of this very special 10th Anniversary year.

The Performance was to be held at The Light’s Theatre, Andover this evening.  However, due to flooding at the venue they have had no other option than to postpone this event until Wednesday 26th February 2020.  Heather Whittam, Venue Director at The Lights said “If you can just thank everyone for their understanding and patience, that would be very much appreciated”.

But… we all know that the Show must go on!  And in their inimitable style, Dental Concepts have found a way of putting a ‘New Year, New SMILE, New Opportunity’ on the faces of Andover’s local charitable causes instead, by way of the food for the evening going to three worthy causes instead.

Andover Crisis & Support Centre, who provide accommodation for women and women with children in need of a supportive environment.  The Valley Church, who run a community building and located in Andover town centre called “The Bridge” which consists of a coffee shop, book shop, run by The Vine Trust.  And last but certainly not least – Sarum House & River House, who provide accommodation for 28 young people with medium to high support needs in a supportive, stimulating and safe environment.

Jane Berntsen, Owner of Andover Buffets, their caterer for the celebration evening said “Regrettably, these things sometimes happen and you just have to deal with it. However, it was so great to be part of a professional team of people at Dental Concepts that very quickly decided to find a way of utilising the food, which would have otherwise gone to waste, to do some good and make the best of an otherwise unfortunate situation.”

Dr Manish said “Turning adversity into opportunity is to bounce back and thrive.  We are blessed to be able to benefit the local community with this gift, whilst still having the opportunity to enjoy our celebrations a little later than expected on the 26th February, 2020.  We wish all the staff at The Lights a speedy resolution to their plight and look forward to seeing them again at the end of the month”
