Your vote can help local charity help support veterans

Local charity Veterans in Action need your vote to help them win a grant from the Masonic Charitable Foundation to help more veterans who are suffering the after effects of war.

To celebrate the 300th anniversary of the United Grand Lodge of England, Freemasons have selected 300 local charities across England and Wales to receive a MCF Community Award – and Veterans in Action is one of them.

Every charity that has been chosen will receive a Community Award of between £4,000 and £25,000 with your vote determining how much each charity receives.

Veterans In Action (VIA) help armed services veterans who have suffered the effects of war or who have found the transition to civilian life difficult.

Using the outdoors, adventurous activities, expeditions and centre based projects, the charity helps veterans rebuild their confidence, self-esteem and self-belief.

VIA have devised their own unique program called ALIVE that is run from their Hampshire based ALIVE Centre and on the many walking expeditions that they run in the UK.

Over the last 6 years VIA have walked a distance of 12,600 miles over the UK with over 500 veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

VIA are always looking for new ways of helping veterans which include photography, bushcraft plus they have their own boxing gym which is affiliated to Boxing England which is run as a community project involving serving personnel, veterans, the local community and their children.

The Masonic Charitable Foundation is one of the largest grant-making charities in the country and is funded entirely through the generosity of Freemasons and their families.
