Football fans in Andover are in for a treat as Petr Čech returns to play in goal for The Jon Baxter Charity Shield on Saturday, 3rd May at Foxcotte Park, home of Andover New Street FC.
The event will see an exciting showdown between the Vixens and the Foxes, alongside a range of youth games, bringing the community together for a fantastic day of sport and fundraising. Čech, the former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper, has previously supported this charity fixture and will once again take his place between the posts.

This special event is being held in memory of Jon Baxter, a beloved coach at Andover New Street, who sadly passed away unexpectedly in February 2023. Funds raised on the day will go to Pancreatic Cancer UK, supporting vital research and awareness.

Last year’s event was a remarkable success, drawing a significant turnout from the community and raising an impressive £6,838 for charity. Chelsea legend Petr Čech dusted off his gloves for the match, helping to make the day even more special.

As well as the football action, the event promises a family fun day, raffle, and live music from The Torn Off Strips, ensuring entertainment for all ages.
Entry wristbands are available for £3-£5, with an all-day pass costing £10. The event runs from 10 AM to 6 PM, with live music from The Torn Off Strips at 6 PM.
With a footballing legend on the pitch, great live music, and a worthy cause to support, this is set to be an unmissable event for the Andover community.
