Andover-Based Stannah Appoints Industry Experts to Support Major Network Rail Contract

Andover’s own Stannah, one of the UK’s leading names in lift and escalator solutions, has strengthened its team with two key appointments to support the delivery of a significant Network Rail contract.

Following a competitive tender process, Stannah secured a new five-year lift maintenance contract with Network Rail, alongside winning the contract to maintain escalators for the first time — a major expansion for the company.

To help deliver this, Brendan Slevin has been appointed as Network Rail Department Manager, bringing years of experience overseeing lift projects across London Underground and London Overground. Brendan will work closely with Stannah’s London Infrastructure Branch (LIB) and branch managers across the UK to ensure smooth project delivery.

Alongside Brendan, Daniel Bond joins as London Infrastructure Branch Manager, with a specialist background in escalators. Daniel previously managed escalator installations for the Elizabeth Line, including the longest escalators on the TfL network, featured in the BBC documentary The 15 Billion Pound Railway.

Together, Brendan and Daniel will play vital roles in delivering the Network Rail contract, maintaining and renewing lifts and escalators at key railway stations across the country.

Local Expertise with a National Impact

The appointments highlight how Stannah’s Andover headquarters continues to lead nationally important infrastructure projects. The company’s Major Projects Division is responsible for handling technically complex lifts and escalators within critical transport networks, and now has the opportunity to bid for further replacement projects under the Network Rail framework.

Dave Saunders, Head of Infrastructure at Stannah, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Brendan and Daniel to the team. Their expertise will strengthen our operations, enhance service delivery and contribute to the ongoing success of the programme.”
