An Andover man has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison following a stabbing incident in the town last year.

Jordan Anthony Leslie Barnes, 30, of The Hexagon, Andover, appeared at Winchester Crown Court on Tuesday, 4 March 2025, where he pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm (GBH).
Incident Details
The court heard that at around 1:20 am on 1 August 2024, the victim, a man in his 40s, was walking from Cricketers Way onto Swallowfields Road when he encountered Barnes.
Barnes shouted at the victim before attacking him with a knife, slashing him across the stomach and arm. Following police enquiries, Barnes was arrested at a nearby address.
Sentencing
Barnes was sentenced to two years and six months in prison and ordered to pay a £228 surcharge.
