Bridge Street in Andover remains closed to traffic after a burst water main earlier today (Wednesday 13th August). Southern Water crews and contractors are on site near Bridge House/The White Hart carrying out emergency excavations to locate and fix the leak.

Pedestrians are being directed around the works and access to nearby businesses is being managed at the scene.
Drivers are advised to avoid Bridge Street and use Western Avenue/Eastern Avenue as alternatives until the road can be made safe and reopened. Expect local delays while plant and tankers operate in the area.
A Southern Water spokesperson said:
“Our inspector attended this leak earlier today and has raised a high priority job. Our teams will be attending this leak today.”
