Could Andover produce Britain’s next Star Baker? Applications are now open for Series 17 of The Great British Bake Off, and producers are encouraging budding bakers from across Hampshire to step up to the challenge.
The much-loved Channel 4 show is searching for a new batch of amateur bakers to enter the famous white tent, where skill, creativity and calm under pressure are tested to the limit. Whether you’re a hobby baker who loves perfecting pastries, or a cake decorator known for spectacular showstoppers, this could be your moment to shine.
Applicants must be aged 16 or over on 1 January 2026 and should not have any professional baking qualifications or experience working as a chef. The competition is open to passionate home bakers who simply love to bake for friends, family or fun.
The closing date for entries is 1pm on Monday 15th December 2025, but producers encourage anyone interested to apply early – spaces for auditions are limited and the earlier you apply, the better your chances.
