The Hawk Conservancy Trust held an event on Thursday evening (4th December) to celebrate artist Alex McGarry’s second year as their Artist in Residence. Guests came to see her latest work and recognise the partnership.

Alex is well known at the Trust. She has painted at live events, sketched vultures on special awareness days and often visits at weekends to capture the resident birds. Her artwork has become a regular part of life at the Trust and many visitors have seen her at work.
Alex is an award winning wildlife artist who specialises in oil paintings of British birds. She was named Up and Coming Artist of the Year by the Fine Art Trade Guild and is represented by De Montfort Fine Art. Her paintings appear in galleries around the UK and on cruise ships such as the Queen Mary II.
The exhibition showed a mix of her popular pieces and some new artwork. The evening highlighted the close relationship between Alex McGarry and the Hawk Conservancy Trust and her continued support for its work with birds of prey.
