A local parent and landlady is once again rallying the community for a special three-day event supporting autism awareness and families across the town.

Jodie Tarrant, landlady of The Angel, is organising “Beyond Words – A Family Festival for Autism”, which will take place from 31st July to 2nd August. The festival promises a packed programme of entertainment including live music, a DJ battle, family activities, food and a large charity raffle.
Last year’s event proved a huge success, raising £3,375 for charity, and organisers are hoping to go even further this year with an ambitious target of £5,000.
The festival is deeply personal for Jodie, whose young son is non-verbal and autistic, making the cause especially close to her heart.
Speaking about the event, she said:
“This cause is incredibly close to my heart. Autism affects so many amazing families in our town. I wanted to create something positive, inclusive and uplifting — a weekend where the community comes together to make a difference.”
The three-day festival will focus on creating a welcoming and inclusive space for families while raising vital funds and awareness for autism support.
Local performers, businesses and volunteers are already being invited to get involved, with organisers hoping the community will once again rally behind the cause.
Anyone interested in supporting the event, donating raffle prizes, performing or volunteering is encouraged to get in touch with Jodie via The Angel Inn social media.
With live entertainment, family fun and a strong community spirit, Beyond Words – A Family Festival for Autism is set to be another memorable weekend raising funds and awareness for an important cause.
