A by-election has been announced for the Downlands Ward of Andover Town Council.

Test Valley Borough Council has published the Notice of Election, confirming that one town councillor is to be elected for the ward.
Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer at Test Valley Borough Council, Beech Hurst, Weyhill Road, Andover, Hampshire, SP10 3AJ.
They can be submitted between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm on any working day from the date of publication of the notice, excluding bank holidays.
The deadline for nomination papers is 4.00 pm on Friday 3 July 2026.
If the election is contested, polling will take place on Thursday 30 July 2026.
Residents who want to vote in the by-election must be registered to vote by midnight on Tuesday 14 July 2026.
Applications for postal votes, changes to postal votes and changes to proxy votes must be received by 5.00 pm on Wednesday 15 July 2026.
New applications to vote by proxy must be received by 5.00 pm on Wednesday 22 July 2026.
Voters who need a Voter Authority Certificate, or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election, must apply by 5.00 pm on Wednesday 22 July 2026.
Emergency proxy vote applications must be received by 5.00 pm on Thursday 30 July 2026.
The notice is dated Thursday 25 June 2026 and was issued by Returning Officer Andy Ferrier.
