New International Food Centre Opens in Andover with Flavours from Around the World

A new independent business is bringing flavours from around the world to Andover after opening its doors in Black Swan Yard.

Dayview Food Centre has officially welcomed its first customers, offering a wide range of international food and drink alongside fresh produce, a bakery and a traditional butcher’s counter.

The family-run business hopes to introduce residents to ingredients and products that are often difficult to find in mainstream supermarkets, while also providing familiar favourites for people from around the world who now call Andover home.

Speaking to Love Andover, the team behind Dayview Food Centre explained that around 90 per cent of the products stocked in the shop are imported from a variety of countries, giving customers the opportunity to discover new flavours and cuisines.

The store also prides itself on offering fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as freshly prepared bakery items and meat from its in-store butcher.

The idea for opening in Andover came after the family relocated from London, where specialist international food stores are far more common.

After moving to the town, they quickly realised there was a gap in the local market.

“We used to shop in stores like this all the time in London,” they explained. “When we moved to Andover, we realised there wasn’t anywhere that offered the same variety, so we thought we’d bring that experience here for everyone.”

Rather than catering solely for people looking for products from their home countries, the owners hope the shop will encourage local residents to step outside their usual shopping habits and try something different.

Their message to the community is simple: don’t be afraid to discover something new.

Whether it’s an unfamiliar snack, authentic cooking ingredients or fresh produce from around the world, they believe there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Located in Black Swan Yard, Dayview Food Centre is now open seven days a week and is inviting residents to come in, explore the shelves and experience flavours they may not have encountered before.

With its combination of world foods, fresh produce and specialist products, the business is aiming to add something unique to Andover’s growing independent retail scene while helping to bring even greater choice to shoppers in the town.
