A Night of Celebration for Test Valley’s Business Community

The achievements of Test Valley businesses were recognised at the annual Test Valley Business Awards, held at The Lights in Andover on Monday, 15th September. Eight awards were presented on the night, shining a spotlight on the most innovative and inspiring enterprises in the area.

Guests heard an uplifting address from adventurer and author Jordan Wylie MBE, who also paid tribute to two well-respected members of the business community who passed away during the past year – David Mellor of David Mellor Family Jewellers and Dr Julian Chen of New Street Dental.

“These two very selfless men were absolute powerhouses in the Test Valley business community,” Mr Wylie said. “They lifted so many people up, they gave generously of their time and spirit, and their legacy is one of kindness, integrity and service.”

Nic Cory of Absolar, a clean tech and AI firm based in the borough, also spoke about the positive impact the awards had on his company’s growth and why Absolar continues to support the event as a sponsor.

The Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Gordon Bailey MBE, congratulated all finalists and winners, while chair of the awards, Katie Brooks, praised the “tales of courage and innovation” that made the evening so memorable. Entertainment was provided by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Army Cadet Band, with catering from McCrimmon & Reid.
