Police Community Support Officers in Andover have been engaging with local students and community groups this week to discuss Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and personal safety.

PCSOs visited Andover College and Lift Winton, where they spoke with students about recognising concerning behaviour, understanding what violence against women and girls can look like, and identifying areas in the community where people feel unsafe.
Officers said hearing directly from young people helps police better understand where support, visibility and preventative action may be needed in the community.
As part of the outreach, PCSOs also visited a female-only running club, where they offered advice on staying safe while exercising outdoors and handed out personal safety alarms.
Police say these conversations are an important part of building awareness and encouraging people to share concerns about safety in their area.
Anyone who feels unsafe or has concerns about behaviour or locations in the community is encouraged to contact police by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency.
