Visitors heading to Thruxton Retro this Sunday (5th July) will be treated to a fantastic day of live entertainment as Andover Radio & Love Andover once again partner with one of Hampshire’s biggest summer events to showcase some of the area’s finest local performers.


Following the success of last year’s partnership, Andover Radio & Love Andover will once again host a packed programme of live music, dance and entertainment throughout Sunday, giving thousands of visitors the chance to discover talented local artists while enjoying everything Thruxton Retro has to offer.
The entertainment begins at 10.30am with former Pride of Andover Arts Award winner Lani Clayton. The 22-year-old singer and musician from Andover is known for her pure, powerful vocals and performs a wide variety of popular covers, ensuring there’s something for everyone.


At 11.15am, Chris McKeegan takes to the decks with a feel-good DJ set packed with 80s and early 90s dancefloor favourites. A former BBC Radio 1Xtra resident DJ under his alter ego Beat Cleaver, Chris has more than 20 years’ experience performing at some of the world’s biggest events and venues, including Glastonbury, Bestival and Space Ibiza. He now hosts House Of Rhythm every Friday at 9pm on Andover Radio.

Soulful vocalist Chanelle Steneberg performs from 12:00pm, bringing her uplifting blend of modern pop, pop-rock, R&B and soul to the stage.
She said: “Really looking forward to this Sunday!”

At 11:45am, talented youngsters from Ruby Slippers Show School will showcase their exciting street jazz routines.
Ruby Slippers is a unique dance school that focuses on building confidence through performing rather than stressful exams. Established in 2009, the school has been based in its own custom-built dance studio in Andover Down since 2018 and offers classes for children aged two to 18.
The school said: “Looking forward to Sunday!”

Alternative pop singer-songwriter Georgie Amelia, performing under the artist name Incolour, takes to the stage at 12.30pm.
Drawing inspiration from artists including MARINA, Tori Amos and Jeff Buckley, Incolour combines introspective lyrics with powerful alternative pop to create an energetic and memorable live performance.
She said: “I can’t wait to play at Thruxton Retro on the 5th July. You can expect to hear some alt-pop original tracks packed with lots of energy and power! See you there.”

At 1.45pm, energetic young local band The Wobblies will bring their infectious enthusiasm and lively performance to the stage. The talented group have been building a reputation for their exciting live shows and promise plenty of energy to keep the festival atmosphere going.

At 1pm, Missfits Bellydance will entertain visitors with colourful performances full of fun and audience interaction.
Based in Andover, the troupe regularly performs at charity and community events and is passionate about spreading the joy of dance.
The group said: “Come and join us for a wiggle and a giggle!”

Popular local rock band Tipsy Gypsies then take to the stage from 2.45pm, bringing their high-energy live show and crowd-pleasing rock set.
The band said: “We’re really looking forward to bringing a high-energy rock set to Thruxton this year. MJ loved performing on this stage solo last year, so to be back with the full band this year is super exciting!”

Closing the day from 4pm until 6pm are headline act Weird Science, Andover’s only truly authentic 80s tribute band.
Renowned for playing all the forgotten hits from one of music’s greatest decades, the band promises two hours of nostalgia, singalongs and classic 80s memories.
The band said: “We are honoured and excited to return to this year’s Thruxton Retro Fest. Get ready for a trip down 80s memory lane.”

Alongside the entertainment hosted by Andover Radio & Love Andover, visitors to Thruxton Retro can enjoy an action-packed weekend featuring historic racing, iconic cars, live demonstrations, retro displays, trade stands, family attractions, camping, food and drink, making it one of Hampshire’s biggest and most anticipated motoring festivals.
The entertainment runs from 10.30am until 6pm on Sunday, with all performances included as part of admission to Thruxton Retro.
Thruxton Retro takes place from Friday 3rd July to Sunday 5th July, offering three days packed with entertainment both on and off the track. Visitors can enjoy spectacular historic and classic racing on the UK’s fastest race circuit, thrilling demonstration runs, iconic classic cars and motorcycles, live music, trade and autojumble stalls, delicious food and drink, family attractions, funfair rides and plenty of retro-themed entertainment for all ages.
