Scaffolding surrounding part of Andover High Street is now starting to come down, offering a welcome sign of progress for the town centre.

The structure, which has covered the Ladbrokes building for over three years, is being removed following ongoing works to the property. The development marks a positive step towards restoring the building’s appearance and improving the overall look of the high street.
Andover Town Council has welcomed the progress. In a statement, the Council said:
“Andover Town Council is pleased to see that some of the scaffolding around the Ladbrokes building on Andover High Street has now been removed.
In January, the building’s owners, Entain, assured the Town Council that completing the works was a priority and that safety considerations, alongside the preservation of the listed building, remain paramount.
We look forward to the work being fully completed as soon as possible.”
The Council’s comments highlight both the importance of completing the project promptly and ensuring that the historic character of the listed building is protected.
Whilst we don’t have an exact date of completion yet, residents and visitors can look forward to seeing the building and the high street returned to its full appearance in the near future.
