Andover Tress United gets royal selection

Andover Trees United is delighted to have been selected to receive a special tree from The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) “Tree of Trees” which stood tall as a message of hope, regeneration and optimism to the nation and the world as part of the Platinum Jubilee weekend celebrations.

Andover Trees United joins some 300 organisations from across the UK who were recently announced by the QGC as recipients of these special trees in The Queen’s name, which are gifted in a pot embossed with Her Majesty’s cypher.

Andover Trees will hold a private commemorative and celebratory planting as the tree is presented by Lady Louisa Portal, who as a Deputy, represents the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire in public duties.

The tree becomes part of the living legacy in honour of Her Majesty, joining over a million trees already planted across the UK as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy.

Andover Trees United are thrilled to be chosen for our contribution to the tree planting and environmental conservation and education and wellbeing community.

Wendy Davis, Trustee,  commented,  “The gift of a tree is a ‘thank you’ for all the valuable and tireless work that volunteers and individuals undertake for the benefit of their communities.  It is a celebration of the diverse communities that come together for the benefit of all, improving the natural environment to improve health and wellbeing and planetary outcomes for generations to come….We are thrilled to be chosen for our contribution to the tree planting and environmental conservation and education and wellbeing community…

We thrive and pride ourselves as volunteers in sharing in peaceful and positive planting and environmental action to empower communities inclusively, in preserving and improving our natural environment, biodiversity and ecology and its accessibility for all to connect with.

We hope these special trees will raise awareness of the need to plant trees and inspire and encourage people to get involved in tree planting.  We hope to inspire others in the community to join us to plant and care for trees during the new tree planting season, between October to March”.
