Country Day Nursery in Andover has been sold to a growing boutique nursery group, marking a new chapter for the much-loved setting.

The nursery, known for its stunning location in converted stables within the grounds of a former manor house, can care for up to 91 children and offers a spacious and stimulating environment. Surrounded by ancient woodland, it has become a popular choice for families in the area.
Lucy and Dean Curcher purchased the nursery in 2018, taking it from an underutilised setting to a thriving childcare business. Drawing on Lucy’s 39 years of experience in the sector, the couple reinvested in the nursery and, alongside their dedicated team, built a service focused on quality care.
Following their decision to retire, Lucy and Dean worked with specialist business property advisers Christie & Co to manage the confidential sale. The nursery has now been acquired by a boutique group operator, which now owns 17 nurseries nationwide.
Sophie Willcox, Director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, commented:
“Lucy has created a fantastic business that was profitable and had an excellent team in place – ticking the boxes of many buyers. We weren’t surprised by the level of interest we received, which led to several offers.”
The nursery was sold for an undisclosed amount.
