As part of National Apprenticeship Week (10–16 February), Hampshire County Council is hosting a series of online and in-person events to help businesses, students, and parents discover the benefits of apprenticeships and the wide range of opportunities available across the county.

Why Choose an Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships offer a valuable pathway into a variety of careers, combining on-the-job training with study to help individuals gain practical skills and recognised qualifications. They are open to people of all ages, from school leavers to those looking to upskill or change careers.
Councillor Nick Adams-King, Leader of Hampshire County Council, highlighted the importance of apprenticeships in supporting both individuals and businesses:
“Apprenticeships are a brilliant option for people of all ages to launch their careers in a huge range of industries or upskill at various levels. They also help to address skills shortages in key sectors like construction, childcare, teaching, and social care. By working with businesses and training providers, we can help match apprentices to the right opportunities and strengthen our local workforce.”
With Hampshire’s new devolution deal, the Council is aiming to enhance skills training across the region, ensuring businesses can meet current and future workforce demands.
