Built with Passion: The Story of Butterfly Beauty by Paula

In the heart of Andover, a beauty clinic built on passion, persistence and a deeply personal philosophy is quietly redefining what modern aesthetics can look like. Butterfly Beauty by Paula, founded by Polish-born cosmetologist Paulina Szkopiecka, is celebrating its first year as a permanent fixture in the town—marking a milestone in a journey that spans more than a decade, multiple cities, and an unwavering commitment to holistic skincare.

Paulina, who moved to the UK in 2013, brings with her a strong academic foundation, having completed a three-year cosmetology programme in Poland before continuing her education in Britain. Now qualified to Level 7—the highest standard in the UK—she has amassed more than 30 diplomas and certificates, travelling extensively to refine her craft.

Her approach, however, is what truly sets her apart.

“For me, beauty doesn’t start from the outside—it starts from within,” she explains. “It’s about lifestyle, supplementation, and supporting the body so the skin can regenerate naturally.”

This ethos underpins every aspect of Butterfly Beauty. Rather than focusing on quick fixes or heavily aesthetic-led procedures, Paulina champions skin health, regeneration, and subtle, natural results. Treatments such as skin boosters, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), and tailored facials are central to her offering, often combined into bespoke packages designed for each individual client.

The business itself evolved organically. What began as informal treatments among friends soon grew into a loyal client base, built on word-of-mouth recommendations. Paulina initially worked across London and Andover, gaining experience in salons and aesthetic clinics alongside doctors and experienced practitioners.

It was only after meeting her fiancé, Jack, three years ago that she made the decision to put down roots in Andover for good.

Encouraged by his support—and with his expertise in construction—Paulina took the leap to open her own clinic. The space, now a calm and welcoming environment, was transformed entirely from scratch. Located on Charlton Road it is a great location for her clients.

She is keen to recognise the unwavering support of Jack, who has played a pivotal role in the business’s journey. Paulina describes him as her “biggest fan”, crediting his encouragement and belief in her abilities as the driving force behind taking the leap to open her own clinic.

From helping to transform the premises through his building expertise to supporting her day-to-day, she says she is incredibly grateful for everything he has done—and continues to do—to help Butterfly Beauty thrive.

“There was nothing here,” she recalls. “We built everything ourselves. I was scrubbing floors, working after hours—it was three months of very hard work. This place is my baby.”

That personal investment is evident not only in the clinic’s design but also in the way the business operates. Transparency, honesty and client care are at the core of her model. Every new client undergoes a consultation, and Paulina is clear that she will refuse treatments if they are not appropriate.

“I’m the first one to say no,” she says. “It’s not about money—it’s about doing what’s right.”

This stance comes from experience. Over the years, she has treated numerous clients seeking corrective work after poorly performed procedures elsewhere. It has reinforced her belief in education, patience and a more measured approach to aesthetics.

“There’s a trend to go straight into fillers, but that’s not always the answer,” she adds. “Skin needs time to rebuild. If you’re patient, the results are natural and long-lasting.”

Despite her advanced qualifications, Paulina has retained services from her early career—including lash treatments and some nail work—simply because she enjoys them. “It’s not always about what makes the most money,” she admits. “I do what I love.”

Butterfly Beauty’s offering continues to evolve. New laser treatments, including hair removal, tattoo removal and skin rejuvenation, are set to expand the clinic’s capabilities. Meanwhile, additional space within the premises is available for rent, with Paulina keen to collaborate with like-minded professionals.

Affordability is also a consideration. Aware of the pressures facing clients, she often combines treatments to maximise results while reducing overall costs, and offers flexible pricing for regular visitors.

Her client loyalty speaks volumes. Some have followed her for over a decade, travelling from London to Andover to continue their treatments.

Looking ahead, Paulina remains focused on growth—but on her own terms.

“I don’t push people,” she says. “I listen first. Then we decide together what’s best.”

As Butterfly Beauty enters its second year, it stands as more than just a clinic—it is a reflection of its founder’s philosophy: that true beauty is built patiently, naturally, and with care.
