Police have released CCTV images as part of an investigation into an attempted burglary at a property in Sutton Scotney.
The incident occurred between 2.20pm and 2.25pm on Tuesday, 28 January, when a man claiming to be from social services attempted to force his way into a home on Carthagena.
The victim had kept the security chain in place and was able to shut the door before the man could gain entry.
Description of the Man Sought
Officers would like to speak to the man pictured in connection with the investigation. He is described as:
- Aged between 40 and 50 years
- Around 5ft 10ins tall
- Mixed race with a slim build
- Short hair
- Wearing a black woollen beanie hat, black hooded top, black cargo-style trousers, black trainers, a black shoulder bag worn across the shoulder, and sunglasses
- He was seen travelling in a blue Vauxhall Astra with the registration KA05 UJX

Police are urging anyone who recognises the man, or who has information that could assist the investigation, to come forward.
