A young boy has tragically died following a collision involving a van in Tidworth on Tuesday evening (9 July).

Emergency services were called to Oak Close at approximately 7.05pm after receiving reports of a serious incident between a van and a pedestrian, understood to be a 10-year-old boy.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the child was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Wiltshire Police have confirmed that the boy’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. A spokesperson said, “Our thoughts are with the child’s family at this extremely difficult time.”
The driver of the van, a man in his 40s, remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.
Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
