Local football initiative Kick Out The Stigma is continuing its mission to support mental health through the power of sport. By combining a love of football with a focus on wellbeing, the group is helping individuals to get involved in the game while tackling mental health challenges.
Last year, the group launched a community hub in Andover to collect donations of football equipment. Thanks to the generosity of the local community, they were able to supply adults and children with the gear they needed to either start or continue their football journey. Beyond individual support, Kick Out The Stigma also assisted local clubs by providing equipment, enabling them to redirect their resources towards other priorities.
Building on last year’s success, the group has set its sights even higher for the coming year. They are calling on the community once again to donate items such as football boots, shin pads, goalkeeper gloves, and other equipment in good condition.

“With these donations, we can help even more people take part in football,” said a spokesperson for Kick Out The Stigma. “Whether you’re just starting out or looking to get back into the game, we’re here to help. Football can be a powerful tool for improving mental health and creating connections within the community.”
If you have football equipment to donate or know someone who could benefit from the programme, Kick Out The Stigma invites you to get in touch and be part of their mission to make football accessible to everyone.
Let’s come together and ensure no one is left on the sidelines.
