Experts To Offer Advice At Free Later Life Planning Event In Andover

A free community event aimed at helping people prepare for the realities of later life is set to take place in Andover next month.

The Later Life Planning Event will be held at the Indoor Garden in the Chantry Centre on Wednesday, 10th June 2026, from 10am until 2pm, bringing together local specialists and businesses to offer advice and support on some of life’s most difficult conversations.

Organisers say the event has been created to encourage people to think ahead before unexpected situations arise, as many families are often left making important decisions under pressure when a loved one suddenly requires care or support.

The drop-in event will provide visitors with the opportunity to speak directly with experts about topics including Power of Attorney, wills, funeral plans, care homes, financial planning, and support available for carers and families.

Professionals involved say more adults are now finding themselves supporting ageing parents or taking on caring responsibilities without fully understanding the legal, financial, and practical challenges that can come with later life planning.

Visitors will be able to ask questions such as how to arrange a Power of Attorney, what happens if a parent suddenly needs care, how home insurance may be affected if a property becomes unoccupied, and what legal or financial arrangements should already be in place.

Eight local businesses and specialists will be attending the event, offering practical guidance in what organisers describe as a relaxed and informal environment with “no appointments, no pressure, just honest conversations and expert support.”

The Later Life Planning Event is free to attend and open to anyone wanting to prepare for the future, whether for themselves or loved ones.

The event takes place at the Indoor Garden, Chantry Centre, Andover, on Wednesday, 10th June 2026, between 10am and 2pm.
