Andover Community Engage (ACE) has been awarded £23,826.08 from the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Fund, securing the future of its much-loved youth project and paving the way for essential improvements.

The grant will allow ACE Youth to refurbish its outdoor space and provide much-needed weekend staffing, helping the organisation keep pace with growing demand from local young people.
Since its launch three years ago, ACE Youth has become a vital community hub, offering a safe, free, and positive environment for young people in Andover. It was set up in response to concerns about anti-social behaviour, particularly during school holidays, and has since gone from strength to strength.
This summer saw record attendance figures, with increasing numbers of older youths joining alongside younger participants. The size and energy of this group has put pressure on existing facilities, underlining the urgent need for more space.
Despite its popularity, ACE Youth has faced significant challenges. Earlier this year, the organisation came close to shutting its doors after running out of funding, but was saved thanks to a passionate community appeal that drew widespread local support. Since March 2025, it has continued to operate without external funding, relying heavily on staff dedication and goodwill.
The new PCC grant will now allow ACE Youth to transform its outdoor area into a sheltered, all-weather space – almost doubling capacity and creating a safer, more engaging environment for all who attend.
Maria Tierney, Founder of ACE Youth, said:
“We are thrilled and grateful to the Police and Crime Commissioner for recognising the value of ACE Youth. The demand for our service continues to grow, and this funding will make a huge difference in ensuring young people have a safe space to meet, socialise, and take part in positive activities. The outdoor refurbishment is absolutely essential for us to continue supporting local families and helping reduce anti-social behaviour in Andover.”
The Commissioner’s office confirmed that details of the award will also be shared with local representatives, including Cllr Phil North and MP Kit Malthouse.
ACE Youth’s expansion forms part of wider efforts in Andover to reduce anti-social behaviour through early intervention, youth engagement, and the creation of safer community spaces.
