Are you looking for a rewarding and hands-on way to give back to the Andover community? The Fire Cadets programme is looking for new volunteers to become Fire Cadet Instructors this September.

You don’t need to have any firefighting experience. If you’re aged 18 or over and can commit to just a couple of hours on an evening during term time, you could help mentor and guide local young people through this inspiring programme.
The Fire Cadets initiative supports 13–17 year olds in building confidence, learning life skills, and gaining experience that could help shape their futures. The Andover unit – based at the local fire station – is part of a county-wide network supported by volunteer firefighters, support staff and members of the public.
As a volunteer Instructor, you’ll be part of a rota and can support in a way that suits you – from leading activities to mentoring or providing admin help behind the scenes. All training is provided, and you’ll be fully supported every step of the way.
What you need to know:
- Must be aged 18+
- No previous fire service experience needed
- Volunteers support a weekly evening session during term time
- Enhanced DBS check required
- Occasional weekend events may be part of the calendar
This is a brilliant opportunity to make a difference locally and help young people in Andover thrive.
