Local Business Appeals for Information Following Thruxton Raid

A rural business has been left reeling after a suspected targeted raid saw a large quantity of animal feed and pet products stolen from its warehouse.

Pembroke Feeds confirmed that its Thruxton premises was broken into overnight on Monday in what is believed to have been a carefully planned operation.

The company reported that a significant volume of stock was taken, including specialist feed and supplements from well-known brands such as TopSpec, Dengie, Global Herbs, Omega Equine, Baileys Horse Feeds, Gain, SPILLERS and NAF.

Pet food products were also among the items stolen, including stock from Pedigree Chum, Gelert, Whiskas, Dr John and James Wellbeloved.

In a statement, the business said those responsible appeared to have prior knowledge of the warehouse and its contents, targeting specific high-value feeds, supplements and pet products.

The incident has prompted a wider warning to others in the agricultural and equestrian sectors. Pembroke Feeds is urging feed merchants, landowners, and animal owners to remain vigilant, particularly for suspicious bulk sales or unusual enquiries.

They have also advised fellow merchants to be alert to unfamiliar vehicles, including lorries, and individuals asking unexpected questions, amid concerns that similar businesses could be targeted.

Despite the disruption, the company says it is continuing to process orders, although a small number of customers may experience delays. The timing of the incident over the bank holiday period has added further pressure.

Describing the break-in as a “major shock”, the team has thanked customers for their patience and support, adding that they are determined to recover and rebuild.

Police enquiries are ongoing, and anyone who is offered suspicious feed or pet products, or who may have information relating to the incident, is encouraged to come forward.
