Acclaimed singer-songwriter Marc Burford returns with a powerful new single, “Rembrandt”, available everywhere from May 9th, 2025. Known for his evocative storytelling and timeless melodies, Burford offers a poignant narrative of romantic pursuit and emotional vulnerability in this hauntingly beautiful track.
Inspired by the experience of watching a close friend fall for someone out of reach, “Rembrandt” captures the quiet heartbreak of unreciprocated love. With rich lyrical imagery and Marc’s signature vocal warmth, the song paints a vivid picture of longing, hope, and the quiet resignation that sometimes follows when love goes unanswered.
“It’s about that helpless feeling you get when you’re watching someone chase something that was never really theirs to begin with,” Burford explains. “Like watching a painting take shape, only to realise the artist was never painting for you.”
Blending classic influences with a modern edge, “Rembrandt” is a striking example of Marc Burford’s ability to transform personal moments into universally resonant songs. This release marks another step forward for the award-winning songwriter, who continues to captivate audiences with his honest, heartfelt music.
The song will be added to the Andover Radio playlist with a first play on 12th May 2025 on the Drivetime show with Ben Tuffin at 5:20pm.
