New Female-Led Personal Safety Initiative Launches to Educate and Empower Women Across the UK

A new female-led personal safety and self-defence initiative, JustStaySafer by Ignite Your Power CIC, is
launching on 14th April 2026 with a clear mission to equip women with the knowledge, skills, and
confidence to navigate the world with awareness, control, and strength.

Created by women, for women, JustStaySafer directly addresses the real-life situations women face
every day. The initiative combines awareness training, decision-making, and practical self-defence,
giving women the tools to recognise risk early, take control of situations, and respond with clarity and
confidence. Unlike traditional approaches, JustStaySafer places a strong emphasis on prevention. The
training focuses on positioning, awareness, and early action, alongside practical self-defence
techniques that are realistic, effective, and designed specifically for women.

The initiative will support women across the UK, including students, professionals, and community
groups, through workshops, events, and structured training programmes. Alongside in-person training,
JustStaySafer will deliver ongoing personal safety education through social media platforms, providing
accessible, preventative guidance that women can apply in everyday life. The initiative reinforces that
the ability to recognise, avoid, and manage situations early is just as critical as physical self-defence.
“I created JustStaySafer after seeing a clear gap in how women are taught personal safety. Too often,
it doesn’t reflect real-world situations or give women what they actually need.

With the growing focus on violence against women and girls, this has never been more relevant.
Women deserve practical skills, real awareness, and the confidence to take control early.
This is about changing how women are educated in personal safety focusing on prevention first,
backed by self-defence that is practical, effective, and works in real-world situations”
Charlotte Male, Founder & Director.

The launch on 14th April marks the beginning of a growing movement building a network of informed,
confident women equipped with the skills to protect themselves and support others.
