Andover Radio attended a business briefing this morning (Wednesday 19 November) where local leaders shared updates on several key town centre projects.
The old Tescos site is now close to being fully demolished. Recent video footage shows the structure almost entirely taken down, leaving a large cleared space that marks a major step forward in the wider redevelopment plans.
There was positive news about the new theatre. The project remains on schedule and is expected to be completed in early 2028. Officials sounded confident that the build is progressing as planned.
Businesses were also reminded about the Test Valley Borough Council grants available for improving shop frontages in the town centre. The scheme can support upgrades to signs, windows, and general appearance. Details can be found on the council website under the Andover Town Centre Frontage Grant.
A question was raised about the long running Ladbrokes scaffolding. The council explained that they continue to apply pressure on the owners. The current estimated completion is Spring 2026.
