The order was granted at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 13 January, after officers presented evidence relating to a property in Woodcutters Court. The court heard that there had been repeated reports of drug activity, anti-social behaviour and excessive noise linked to visitors to the flat.

Under the terms of the order, only individuals specifically authorised are permitted to enter or remain at the property. The restriction will remain in place for three months, and anyone who breaches the order will be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.

The known evidence was compiled by Andover’s Priority Crime Team, working closely with Abri Housing, as part of wider efforts to tackle behaviour that negatively impacts local residents.

Sergeant Rob Perry, from the Priority Crime Team, said:

“Anti-social behaviour and drug-related activity has a detrimental impact on local communities, and that’s why we take it seriously.

“Applying for such an order takes a lot of work with local residents and partners, but we will continue to look at all options available to us to combat anti-social behaviour in our town.”

Police have encouraged residents to continue reporting concerns, as information from the community plays a vital role in enabling action to be taken.
