Pennies Haberdashery, one of Andover’s most distinctive independent shops, is asking local people for support after losing its Facebook following without warning.

Years of steady work building an online community disappeared almost overnight. Attempts to get help from Facebook brought little response, leaving the small team feeling overlooked at a time when online support matters more than ever.
The shop is now turning to the people of Andover. Pennies is inviting customers old and new to follow its Facebook page and to ask friends to follow too. Simple actions such as liking the page or sharing a post will help rebuild the community that has always played a big part in the life of the shop.
Pennies Haberdashery is known for its friendly service, personal touch, and wide range of haberdashery essentials. Many customers describe it as a rare little treasure on the high street, offering a warm and personal shopping experience that is hard to find elsewhere.
Penny, speaking on behalf of the shop, said, “We are a tiny business and losing our online following was heart breaking. We asked Facebook for help but did not get very far. So we are reaching out to the people who know us best. If local residents can follow our page and help spread the word, it would mean the world to us.”
With the support of the Andover community, Pennies Haberdashery hopes to restore the online presence that has helped keep the shop thriving.
