Police Provide Update After Cannabis Factory Found in Andover Town Centre

Police have released further details following the discovery of a cannabis grow inside a derelict building off Andover High Street on Wednesday 3 September.

At around 11.17am, officers attended the property where they found a number of plants being cultivated. A group of men who were present at the scene attempted to flee.

During the incident, a 29-year-old man sustained injuries to his back and wrist after an apparent fall while trying to leave the premises. He was detained by police at the scene before being taken to Southampton General Hospital, and has since been discharged.

Arrests Made

Police confirmed that three men were arrested in connection with the incident:

  • A 33-year-old man from Derby was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug and cultivating cannabis.
  • A 29-year-old man from Stratford-Upon-Avon was arrested on suspicion of cultivating a Class B drug.
  • A 26-year-old man from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug and cultivating cannabis.

All three men have been released on bail with conditions while further enquiries continue.

Police Action

Officers are currently in the process of removing the plants from the site. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

This update follows an earlier police announcement on the same day when the grow was first uncovered.
